Hi, this is definitely a good place for the Hennesey, and a great hammock it is too by all accounts. 'Woodland' will be along before long and be able to help you out I'm sure.
I don't think there is anywhere in the UK to get the US made Warbonnet ? Sometimes UKhammocks get some in stock but not very often I don't think and they sell out quickly I believe ?
Matt at UKhammocks posted on the site here a while ago that he was expecting some in but that was a few weeks back and I decided to bite the bullet just this afternoon and order one direct from the States Pretty expensive business though, they are pricey to start with and then the postage is very steep to the UK, and I expect to be hit with vat and handling fee when it hits the UK too
The Hennesey's are much more reasonably priced, as are the UKhammocks range and the Zombie range they also stock.
Not sure why but Warbonnet appear to have disappeared from the UK Hammocks site. Might be worth giving Mat a call if you want one though as last time I spoke to him he was expecting them to arrive.
Alternatively I can sell you an Explorer but the Safari is a little closer to the massive size of the BB XLC.
If it's the Warbonnet you're after though it might be worth looking into how much it would cost in total to import one. As neither the Warbonnet or Hennessy are budget hammocks that you'll want to upgrade later it's well worth making sure you get the one that suits you best.
I spoke to Mat a few weeks ago about the Warbonnets disappearing from the site, he just decided to take them off until he got the next batch in and then would put them back up under the US Imports section.
It's been a few weeks since then though and there's no real visibility on timings of when they might come in, so I just decided to take the hit on costs and go direct to the US, still a minimum two week delay though due to order backlogs, and I'm guessing another week for delivery, so not a quick option either !
Remember to allow for import duty on your US purchases. I was £80 for a hammock to come into the country and that's on top of postage. There's an import calculator online you can use
It's a blackbird xlc Kieran, double layer 1.7oz and fitted with whoopies, being a larger gentleman I figured I would appreciate the extra length and inside space
It's a bit of a treat for myself having just finished a recent work project, and b'day coming up. It;ll be just my luck if Mat gets a bunch of them in now, and maybe even cheaper, before mine arrives !!
The website says they're currently taking around two weeks to make, and add another week for delivery I'm guessing, so not going to be here soon enough !
