    Tw hammock chair

I'm going over to Holland with me mate in September, cycling for a week and hammocking wherever we get sorted (I hope!). Anyway, amidst all the purchases we've made for stuff in preparation, he owed me a fiver and bought us one of these each instead.

Anyone used one before? Think it has channels at the 2 ends - can I just run something straight through them and around the trees? Ie nothing needs whipping or anything like that right? I'm about 10k heavier than the advertised weight limit but as long as it does me the week then I'm not too bothered...

I not used that particular one (I make my own gear) but I've never really used my hammock chair for sitting as its uncomfortable with the squeeze on outer thigh and shoulders. They work well as gear hammock, as a kind of foot rest and if waterproof as rain skirt and pack cover. The other issue is tree straps: do you bring two pair? If not do you leave your hammock packed. And how high the tree strap needs to be at head end is always too high!

Still at that price easy enough to try

I used UCRs with mine (which double dutied as reserve suspension for my hammock)

Could be handy as a gear hammock I guess, but not sure how necessary it is as my stuff will all be my ortlieb bike panniers anyway...will have to give it a try before we go.
I do have my straps from my dd, but having just read another post on here it doesn't fill me with confidence haha

Could always take them though I guess

I tend to find these sized hammocks are great for making chairs out of...

That's all I do Stevie, except I bought some ripstop off ebay 3m length iirc, works well and with it just being folded instead of stitched it can be opened out to do other things etc
