    Exped Synmat LW in Hammock

    Morning all.

    I'm looking to upgrade my DD Frontline to something that allows me a flat/diagonal lay. Can anyone please recommend a hammock that the Exped LW mat would fit in? I like the look of the Hennessy Expedition Zip but don't really want to shell out if the mat wont fit. By the way I'm 5'8" tall if that makes any difference. I don't want to go down the underquilt route as I also need to be able to bed on the ground. Any hammock suggestions or experience welcome.

    Regards

    Paul

    Was gonna pull the trigger on one of these myself, but got tempted down the underquilt path... no going back now!

    It has a sleeve that the mat fits in, and the rest of the hammock is built around that, unlike a simple gathered end hammock.
    Apparently, you get a very good flat lay. Reviews say it works better than a simple double layer.

    They have one with integrated bugnet too.
    Imports on eBay from Australia are a good price.

      Not quite an upgrade in terms of cost, but certainly in terms of comfort: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Tukeke-Singl...tukeke+hammock

        Bit pricey but if you're looking for a flat lay with no need for an underquilt then I would personally recommend the Pak-it-Lite FOB. This particular hammock is similar in design to the Sky Bed mentioned by Gadget but these are designed as a four season hammock with a space for mats..
        This is my go-to hammock. I'm looking to upgrade mine to the ultralite version within the next couple of weeks. If you make it along to one of the meets you'd be welcome to try it out;
