#11I certainly hope they live up to the rep............................just paid the customs charges on mine.
One reason I went for an EE quilt was the ability to use it with my Xtherm when sleeping on the ground ( yeah I know dont hate me ) and they seem popular with the ground dwellers from what I could tell. I could use my down quilt but it's a tad too narrow at the top, fine in the hammock but on a mat it would get a bit chilly as it lacks any pad attachments to reduce gaps. Being synthetic I know its not going to compress as well as a down quilt but I can live with that.

#12A few quick out of the box pics and first impressions.
The whole thing appears very well made and finished. I went with digicam 20d outer with charcoal 10d inner fabrics, I don't usually do camo with my gear, but felt like something different this time and I rather like it. Pop studs and bungee cord at the neck and bottom closure.
Size wise its a regular width and regular length which seems spot on for me at 5'11" tall and has plenty of width on it to wrap around the shoulders (42-44" ish chest).
What you get for your money.
Quilt, x2 pad straps, large storage bag and smaller stuffsack.
No real world testing yet for the temp ratings, pack size, weight etc, I'll get round to it when I have a bit more time, but it is light compared to what I have already and the Climashield Apex (not used it before) should compress well against other synthetics.
All in all very happy with it.5 PhotosUKH Woodsman X & EDC.

#13Looks good! If I remember correctly it is 6oz apex in that, I'm sure arrowhead equipment rates there 3 season quilts with the same weight insulation (they say conservatively and I've seen many reports saying the same) at 20°F. I reckon you'll be warm well below freezing in that thing!
I thought EE used a zipper on the footbox instead of snaps?

#15Thanks, I wondered about that because I've seen forums posts from the owner of EE where he has talked about zipper vs snaps vs velcro.
I done some more digging om temp ratings too. Arrowhead equipment does use 6oz apex for 3s quilts and rates them at 25°F but Mountain Laurel Designs uses 4.8oz apex in their spirit quilt and rates it at 30°F. You should definitely get below freezing
