    DD Frontline mod

Hi all, haven't done it yet but after receiving my Frontline today, setting it up and laying in it, I think there maybe a mod to try, at the ends where the webbing straps are, I'm thinking of a spreader bar, probably made of something like a broom shank to spread the hammock almost full width to get as much space as possible. What do people think, do you think it may compromise the strength of the hammock or fail in another way, maybe a good idea ?

    Thoughts please, TIA

Not that I've tried it....but I believe that adding spreader bars will make it less stable and more prone to 'tipping' but you wont know if you don't try it!

Give it a go and see what happens

    And then tell us!!

    Cheers

The thing that made me think of a spreader bar was watching Dan ( Silva Wolf ) doing DD's promo vid, where he went around a thick trunk tree that kept the bottom of the hammock open, or more so than the gathered end, I'll sleep in it tonight as is, make use and sleep in it tomorrow night and see what happens, and report back

        Hi,
my g/f uses DD frontline, sometimes with alupad or underblanket, and double layer fabrics alone does support perfectly.
imho I don't recommend adding any spreaders into hammock, there could be too much force accumulated in one point and u can damage or even puncture fabrics.
If you are not bothered by warranty loss and you are able to sew some spreader housings onto hammock well, your idea may lead to some benefit, but personally I would not risk ruining hammock.
