    Niteize Cam Jam

    Has anyone else tried these?

    http://www.niteize.com/product/CamJa...-Tightener.asp

I tried them this weekend, one on each end combined with the Hennessy tree saver straps. Set up was very fast, a tight hang was achieved and I just tied a quick knot to help take strain off the mechanism. I recommend them, they're weight rated for 500lbs and held up fine in -25 degrees C (that's another story). Excuse the poor photo, it was blistering cold!

    Whatever works for you Buddy.
I think I will pass, 500lbs is well below my 4:1 safety factor.
I will stick to stainless steel loop aliens, they are good beyond 1000kg (2200lb).

That's not a bad rule! Hah. I don't rely on the cam to hold my weight though, like I said, once it's right I tie a couple knots to take pressure off it.

I got some niteize products from a small local hardware shop. 2 small slidelock carabiners 2 small figure 9s and 2 small camjams. To play around with the idea of a continuous ridge line. I tried the 2 carabiners one with a prusik knot. Worked great but the prusik liked to bind up sometimes. So tried the figure 9 great not bad tightens well but the small camjam works a treat love it. I don't know how well it will stand up to cold. But have to say in all i like niteizes products so far.

I've found that they make some very interesting gear. I also replaced my tarp lines with their reflective cord that has small figure 9's on each one.. Excellent for adjusting tension.
