Has anyone got a parachute? And has anyone got any ideas about food arrangements? I can bring a cast double propane burner but might be worth discussing who has what and more to the point who doesn't.

We took advantage of the good weather last weekend (not the one just gone) and the camp site's great if you're on the fence about going this weekend. Loads of trees, loads of space, clean facilities. My kids slept in an hour later than normal too

And if you're near a Dreams Bed store you might want to go in and lie on 3 beds... They'll give you a very comfortable Tempur travel pillow which fits perfectly in a hammock. Or buy one cheap on ebay from the people who thought they could get one and believed the £65 RRP

I'd best buy some cheese after all then. Port already secured from France

Sorry for the late reply, it's no on both counts for me which doesn't help much, sorry !

I'm planning on self catering, but it would make sense to have a group cooking fire I suppose and if anyone had a large tripod and kettle, trivet or similar it could make the cooking more fun, otherwise we can all do our own thing I guess ?

I've got a small home made tripod and chain, squirrel cooker and a few bits and pieces but not big enough for group use really.

Could make a wooden tripod on site but the website mentions no harvesting of timber (live or dead) I think ? Firewood to be purchased on site and not brought in.

Not sure whether there are any issues with sharps on site, didn't see anything on the website and wasn't sure about asking in case I got the wrong answer ! Given they do bushcraft lessons and stuff there I'm assuming it should be fine.

I'll be planning to arrive around lunchtime Friday. We could end up scattered around a fair bit as it's a largish site unless we can figure a way of communicating or meeting up once there ?

                        Just some random thoughts !

                        Cheers, Paul

How about this for a plan? Could one of the admins who know the site staff see if there's a suitable area (including a fire pit) they could suggest for us? I think we'll be about 20 folks if we all turn up. On arrival, if we announce we're with Hammock Forum, we should hopefully be directed to the correct spot (or be found a week later somewhat thinner and complaining about navigation skills).

                          Cheers,

                          M@

I will self catering, agree totally with Ehecatl, would be good if we could have an area reserved.
Hope to be there around 2:30, let's hope the formats is wrong!

Sorry to hear you're not coming hammock-man.
I'd expect that Mike is thinking we are going to be gathered within the area of a large oak which is a convenient centre point. It's worth rembrring that it's an open commercial site and so would probably be better for the other site guests if we were fairly close to each other.
