That's a big tarp for £20, looks a good deal.

We bought one last year for the garden. It is very good, although I do seem to recall that it was only showerproof - until I fabsilled it :-)

The guylines are stretchy crap, but the poles are good.

Cool find, I may pick one up for car camping, it's literally not worth me making myself one for that money

I got something similar from aldi a few years ago which proved only useful when it wasn't raining.
It was soon passed to the charity shop.

I gave it a punt, will be interested how the PU coating and seam sealing holds up. If the hydrostatic head is to be believed (2000mm), it's better than my membrane silpoly... I have my doubts!
            663g isn't too bad,

            It's a hex with a cat-cut along the base,

            here are the dims,

Looking at the colour, and price, I may make a winter sock/tarp thing out of it. I'm guessing the fabric is somewhere in the region of 3oz/y2

What are the poles like? I'm needing to buy a couple anyway for campsite campings with the boys and want a huge MTP hex built for it (I've a couple 100m of MTP fabric to think up uses for ☺)

Can anyone tell me if this is still available? (Can't see it on their website) Or whether its' time has passed?

Also, what are the folded/ packed dimensions please.

                Thanks
                Steve

They went out in the man-aisle a couple of weeks ago here. There was two left when I bought that. I could nab you one if desired.
I have yet to give it a good test with the sprinkler. Will report back on that.

Each one is a smidge under 400g, 16mm OD, 0.75mm wall thickness steel. About 7' long, in four sprung sections. Plastic foot and a steel spike on the top, to fit through the grommet on the ends of the tarp ridge. Comes with six nasty steel pegs and some paracord.

Had a chance to erect the Lidl Shade Sail in the garden this morning.

Pros- Nice size, not too heavy

Cons- Needs waterproofing, has holes at each end for poles which will need sealing.

Once waterproofed I think it'll make a great Summer tarp.

Any advice on the easiest/ best way to waterproof PU coated polyester? Should I use the ubiquitous Fabsil?

Once again many thanks to Gadget for procuring this one for me (only my 9th tarp!)

Mine didn't need waterproofing, had it out in the garden for 4 days/nights in the rain, slept under it for two nights. Dry as a dry thing.
