We have set up a Facebook page (so that means you need to get on Facebook now Diamond Dave!) for like minded individuals to Buy, Sell and Trade Hammock kit.
Would be a great place to advertise many of the great quirky gadgets that are on here.

Anyone can find it. Membership requests and post have to be approved but will usually be approved instantly.
Just means that nobody can post rubbish or spam and known problem members can be declined.

I don't quite know how that would work. It may be better if we keep an eye on the wanted posts and if anything comes up that's in the wanted section we post it there.
Is there anything in particular that you need or just generally?

Unfortunately that's not a viable option Meadow as it would create a lot of work for someone just for your benefit mate.
It's an additional service that should benefit everyone equally. Hopefully it will be used as an additional area to offer goods for users of the forum and those on FB who aren't currently on here will join and post items for sale on this forum. For those posts from sellers who are non-forum members, you'd have to have a look for yourself Meadow.

There is a link within the group to this forum so hopefully, as Stevie said, it will send people on to here.

There has been a trend where forums are creating Facebook groups. The problem with these groups as Chubbs pointed out to me a while ago is that to find anything of interest to you you have to scroll through a lot of stuff that is not. The FB groups just aren't set up to work in the same way and are not as useful as a forum. I'm guessing that the reason they are so popular is that so many people are on Facebook.

There are two very important things that we can all do to keep the forum running and make it a worthwhile site to visit. Firstly, post good, helpful and genuine content and lots of it and secondly, actively encourage anyone who will have any interest in the theme of the forum to join and do the same.

To stay alive the forum needs as many people visiting regularly and posting regularly as possible and hopefully the Facebook sales group will send them this way.
I'm probably never going to link the forum directly to a Facebook group, I don't think it would be in our interest but at times I and others have put links on the Facebook groups to the forum and competitions and doing so has enhanced the forum and it's numbers so the sales group will hopefully do the same.

So, taking into consideration what Meadows and Gooner have said I'm going to pop across there now and put a post up asking that anyone selling on the group does so on the site too, hopefully that will make the sales available over here and bring in some more members.

Aside from that it would be great if everyone else can spend a little time now and then promoting the forum within their own circles. Summer is just around the corner and it would be the perfect time to try and give things a boost.
