    Hallo from Saxony

A few hours ago I discovered this forum and found some names I know from hammockforums.net. I read some interesting threads and decided to join the community.

    Some words about me:
I'm german so please forgive me my poor english. My hanging career began with a fastened tight spreader bar hammock I often fell out. Now I wonder how could I sleep in it.

Later I bought a gathered end hammock and fell in love with hammocking. Now I own eight different hammocks, from DD Hammocks to TicketToTheMoon, cheap supermarket hammocks and a bridge hammock.
My favorite one is a charcoal gray 11 foot double layer Hexon 1.0 hammock made by Dutch.

I often visit hammock meetings in Germany and I'm dreaming of an international group hang.

Hello Mittagsfrost. Welcome to the forum.
I've just had a look at some Google pics of Saxony and it looks beautiful, do you have good access to places to hang/camp etc?

Thank you all for the warm welcome here.

Yes, I plan to post some pictures taken at group hangs and try to describe the german hanging scene.

I live in a dense populated area in Saxony but until now I've always found a place for stealth hanging. In addition to that - I own a garden with two pairs of trees. One pair is in perfect distance for my gathered end hammocks, the other matches the ideal distance for my bridge hammock. I'm a lucky hanger.
The downside is: I have to do the garden work BEFORE I lay (or even sit) down in my hammock. Otherwise I'll wake up in the sunset and it's to dark to mew the lawn or to pull up the weed
