    Hennessy Hammocks - any good

I love my TW Hornet and have a new hammock arriving soon for the colder weather.

Curious about these though, always wanted one but would it be sufficient for me and my dog (miniature schnauzer)? How does it fair with an inflatable mat? Cheers

    Hi Stevie,
I've been using Hennessy Explorer Classic and have always used a mat. Not sure what dog you have but the miniature bit suggests that it wouldn't take up too much room.
If it's a bigger dog you could have a look at a Hennessy Safari.

Thanks fella, does it have somewhere to slide the May into or it just a case of placing img it onto the floor of the hammock and praying you don't slide? Cheers

I just slide the mat into place and get on it. Mind you I use a foam mat not an SI mat but the hammock holds it nicely in place with its shape.

That said I use a classic velcro bottom entry hammock, it should be even easier if you buy the zip model because you don't have to climb in around the mat. Zip would probably be better with a dog too.

I have a new Hennessey Safari and love it. Its huge but seems really well made. I admit im new to the hammocking thing but did a weekend in January. First night was gale force winds and the second night was really cold. I layered up the bedding and got stuck in. It remained stable and in one piece despite being thrown around. I love it and use it whenever I can!

I have been using mine for a good while now and ive never had no problems with it. I just use a foam pad with mine and it doesn't slide around but I am thinking of getting an UQ. Oh forgot to mention its the classic Velcro entry.

The safari is a beast, i was originally looking at the DD explorer until i spoke to Kieren and bought one off him.absolutely love it, got a DD camping one to muck about with when i take kids out.

I had the chance to have a good look and try out of a couple of Hennessy's last weekend namely the Safari and Exlorer deluxe (velcro) and was pleasantly surprised at the interior space these have due to the lay out of it and can see myself picking up the latter at some point, now I dearly love my Woodsman X and I'm not looking at replacing it but the Hennessy would be another option to have a change once in a while.....................after all you cant have to many hammocks right.

I have/use both classic and zip explorers, I bought the later to use with quilts. Though I was quite happy with the tenth wonder set up I had before, hennessy are in a different league.

To answer my own question I love the Safari. Wasn't too keen on the expidition - didn't suit me but the safari enables my wife, beloved dog and I to share a hammock. Brilliant!
