    What's this bit for...?

    Hi,

Can anyone please tell me what the mesh 'windsock' affair with the drawstring end on my Hornet is designed for?

    Many thanks

I emailed Neil about this last night, here's his reply:-

'It's to allow you to reach out and fiddle with your ropes or whatever you're using for suspension. If you have things hanging on a ridgeline just outside where the armhole is, it makes it easy to get them without having to get out of the hammock. If you have nothing outside the armhole and won't need it, you can stash your pants & socks in it - well, you called it a windsock! We haven't actually thought up a name for this armhole yet. We'd be grateful for any suggestions. One that we came up with was 'reacharoo'.'

    Hope that helps Steve.

I see, suspension adjustment wasn't one of the uses I had thought of!

Storage yes, but my favourite was so that one of my mates could pass me a cup of tea in the morning without me having to get out of my pit :-) ...I did share this, but was told in no uncertain terms by my camp mates that this was never going to happen!

      Thanks for inquiring.

      Cheers
      Steve
