    Bug/mosquito nets

I've made a few bug nets, they can be bought as just the bug net or as a complete set up. The setup shown is with a 10.5' (57" wide) 1.4oz/y2 brushed ripstop nylon hammock with channel end, 2.5mm dyneema whoopies and an adjustable ridge-line (I can make a ridgeline to a specific length if preferred). I can supply the tree straps too. This first one is a Fronky style (bottom entry) with no elastic at the bottom (if you require elasticated bottom I can make one for you). Should comfortably fit hammocks upto 11' running the 83% average length reduction Cost is £36 for bug net only

And sorry for the terrible photos, it's too wet outside to take pictures. My apologies

Hehe it's my orange summer UQ cam snapped to my slightly thicker grey and lime green UQ to make a bodged winter UQ, super warm.

Shame you didn't post earlier, just bought 7 yards of nanoseeum to do my own.
Pictures in this thread are better than the ones in your hammock thread, they're teeny tiny!

                Thanks Sunndog

Gadget; sorry! I put it off myself as sewing mesh is horrible, really awkward stuff. If you need any pointers on sewing the netting drop me a PM.

I noticed the tiny pictures, they seem to be shrinking as the day progresses, can't. Figure out why though?

I'm listing more bug nets on eBay. This site is quite buggy so I'll be listing there more. At least 10% off for HFUK scallywags

                    We've got our own acronym!

Again, my timing is rubbish. Just got 4m of ExtremTextil's 160cm wide ultralight mesh.

                      And we deserve it ☺

Ah damn! Is it the 40GSM nylon from extrem? That's a really nice fabric to sew as it doesn't stretch much, best I've found actually.

No, the 25gsm. It's cheaper, lighter, and wider. Hoping it's wide enough to do it as a one-piece, fronkey.

Ah I don't think I have that in my sample set, it'll be delicate but I've used nets at this weight before and I got a good amount of use before the it got haggard.

Do you mean 80cm each side with no ridgeline? craige on here got one like that from a US cottage maker and it was laughably short. I'd message him and see what sort of dimensions he had. It'll be a good way to save cash if it works

                            That's what I'm hoping,

We will see tonight... the missus is off out gallivanting tonight, so I will get busy with the sewing machine (gender role reversal anyone??)
If it is too short, I can always add a hem of ripstop to make up the difference, or hang it below the ridgeline with grosgain tabs.

The 25gsm from extex is more or less the same as nanoseeum from the US.

Scott, I was trying to block that from memory, thanks for bringing it up

The stuff I used was from Dutch, 140cm wide. I don't think an extra 10cm each side will be enough to make it OK with an 11ft hammock. Maybe with a longer rl or a shorter hammock. The design I used was the same as the sheltowee boone topper.

Luckily there weren't really any bugs on that trip and I only took the net to try it as I don't have anywhere for a test hang at home. I did get dive bombed by a couple of daddy long legs though lol.
