Need a buddy in/ around Devon,The South West

    Hello anyone and everyone
I've been hanging for about 6 months after falling in love with a hammock, when a friend lent me one for a night.
I went out with him a few times but he has since emigrated to Edinburgh (Hes a big DD fan).
So I have been doing a lot of solo outings.
But now I'm looking for some one to meet up with, sitting around a camp fire isn't as fun solo.

So if your around the south west and fancy going to the woods sometime or just swapping tips for the area drop me a message.

    J

    Hi J
We are down in Cornwall (truro area) and we go out into the woods a couple of times a month. We also get up to Dartmoor now and again.

It would be good to meet up

Just got back from a couple of days on the coast path on Exmoor. Get in touch if you are heading up this way.

Thanks guys it would be really cool to explore new areas with a local guide.
If you fancy going out in my area sometime I know some great spots around.
You haven't hammock until you've hung between hidden giant redwood trees, or the misty trees of piles copse.

Anyone fancy meeting up for a 1 night trip, weekend of the 27th February.
Maybe PIles Copse, Ivybridge, Devon PL21.
I've got a homemade under quilt I want to try in the cold before it starts warming up.

            Anyone feel like joining?

Love to, but I'm out with the Trek-Lite chaps this weekend, so I'd have to be extra special good to get another fun-pass from SWMBO! (plus I'm coming off a night shift on Saturday morning.

              I'll work on it.

Looks like I've got a fun ticket from the fun sheriff (as long as she doesn't pick up a weekend shift in the meantime).
Where are you hiking in from?

Well that depends on the weather. If its soggy I was thinking Harford.
if it's dry and you fancy a longer trip we could start in ivybridge and Travel north east to check out some standing stones a few miles away not sure exactly were they are yet have to break out the maps.
Then walk west to piles copse.

I'm very much open to suggestions.

I was toying with coming in from the NE, there are a few woods on that side I haven't checked out (Hannaford, Scae Woods, Holne Wood, Venaford Reservoir, Great Combe, Michelcombe), about 14km.
I was thinking of soloing it in and RV'ing with you there, but whatever works for you. My plans my well fall on their arse anyway, as I am coming off a night shift on Saturday morning, so I may be fresh as a daisy, or a bear with a sore head!
